Saladmaster Recipes - March

St. Patrick's Day Cake

      Utensils: 1 Qt Saucepan; 3 Quart Saucepan and cover; Saladmaster Machine; #1 cone; # 5 cone
      Yield: 6 - 8 servings

      Ingredients:
      1 Pkg White cake mix
      1 medium potato
      1 egg
      1 green apple
      1 wedge green cabbage
      Green Food Colouring
      1 Peppermint chocolate bar (peppermint aero, PEP, or any other favourite)
      2 oz Irish Cream or
      2 oz Bushmills Irish Whisky

      Process apple with Saladmaster Machine, and spread around bottom of 3 Quart Saucepan. Pour contents of cake mix in mixing bowl, process potato with #1 cone, process cabbage with # 5 cone, add to mix, add egg and a few drops of food colouring, add one oz. of either Bushmills or Irish Cream, extra oz. is for the cook. Mix well.

      Pour contents into 3 qt saucepan, cover and cook on medium heat until vapo valve clicks, turn to low and cook for about 15 minutes until done.

      While cake is cooking, melt chocolate in 1 qt saucepan.

      When cake is done, remove from pan to serving platter, spread chocolate on top for icing.
